Ask for it in writing
The policy summary, the storage agreement, the handover point on an international movement, or anything else on this site. We will send it, and we think you should ask every firm you approach for the same.
The five questions, for us and for everybody else
What is the goods-in-transit limit. What is the limit per individual item. What is the excess. Are self-packed cartons covered. Does the cover extend to goods while they are in store.
Ask those of every firm quoting you, in those words. A firm carrying real cover answers all five in a sentence each and sends the summary without hesitating, and the hesitation is itself an answer.
And check the register
Search any removals company on the free public Companies House register. Incorporation date against claimed trading history, filings up to date, a registered office that looks like a real trading address, and what else the directors have behind them.
None of it is proof of anything on its own, and all of it is context for a figure that looks surprisingly low. Apply it to us as readily as to anybody else. Nothing here is legal advice.
If something went wrong
Tell us as soon as you notice, and in writing within the period the terms set out. Keep the item and its packaging so both can be examined, and photograph it where it stands before anything moves again. We would far rather settle something that is ours than argue about it.
